Today I’m going to share with you some interesting historical facts about how Essential Oils have been used and what makes them so POWERFUL and WONDERFUL…

🌼 EGYPT 4500BC
Essential Oils such as Frankincense, were used by ancient Egyptions as a preservative for the mummification prosess embalming the body and pickling organs due to their beliefs in life after death.

🌼 GREECE 400BC
Hippocrates “The father of modern medicine” recognised that buying certain essential iols offered protection against contagious diseases.
Frankincense, Cinnamon, Sandlewood and Myrrh were were used as currency in trading.
Myrrh was also used as a healing ointment.

🌼 ROME 50AD
Romans believed that the way to perfect health was to indulge in a Aromatic bath and massage everyday. That bathed and steamed to rid their bodies of dirt and toxins.

🌼 ENGLAND 1350AD
During the black death, handkicheifs soaked in Essential Oils were used to ward off the deadly disease.
The famously illustrated nursery rhyme “ring o’ ring of roses” represented the circled rash that would appear and “pocket full of poses” the smell of Essential Oils used as protection.

The actual term Aromatherapy first originated in 1937 when french chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse invented it after a skin burn spurred his curiosity about the healing power of essential oils, in this case Lavender oil ā¤
